Tek-One (AKA Howard Newman) is a DJ / producer who hails from Oxted, a place just outside the home of Dubstep; Croydon.

There must be something in the water of Oxted as fellow dance producers, A1 Bassline, Kavsrave and Joy Orbison have been friends since school (Oxted County) a school that has produced many a famous musician and quite a lot of successful sporting celebs.



After considerable success with first release Broken String [Hench records], which went to number 5 on the Beatport chart and was 'Juno Recommends' number 1 dubstep track, he raised the bar and crossed over to the metal crowd with an amazing remix of Bring me the Horizon's 'Sleep With One Eye Open', which has already amassed several million plays on Myspace, YouTube etc.

Then in came Felix Dickenson, a drummer that literally beats his kit 'til his hands bleed, to add to a live show that has drawn the attention of press and promoters alike.



Little over a year since their inception there are exciting times ahead, with support tours lined up with Family Force 5 and Bring Me the Horizon added to dates at Leeds festival, Nass, Sonisphere and a support with 3OH!3 on the London leg of their tour.



On the recording side there is a new single planned for early autumn and collaborations with A1 Bassline, Kavsrave and pioneers of Garage/2-Step, Dem2. All this is coming on the back of much touted remixes of Way Out West, which appeared on the 'GetDarker Vol.2' Dubstep compilation, Crystal Fighters, Fugative and The One Hundred. The latter three all appeared on the Ministry of Sound 'This is Dubstep' compilation album (number 2 in the chart), alongside Tek-One's afore mentioned 'Broken String.
